Emotional Chaos Chapter 4

                             An Abnormal Dream, The Emotional Struggle.


"Uggggh……………………huh? I'm………alive? I thought I…"

Wait a minute……………why is the sky a purple black colour? I can hardly see a thing!

I got up…and looked at the scenery wondering what had happened… I widened my eyes at what I saw.

"When did this happen!? Why are all the buildings collapsed!? What happened to everyone!? And where am I? I thought I was at the school! Why is everything around me destroyed!?"

Alright, calm down, don't panic, someone will turn up eventually, maybe I should have a little wal-

BAAAANNNNGGGGG!!!

"Ah!"

Damn it. I hate thunder. But why thunder now? Why is this happening?

I started walking and as soon as I started, someone was crawling out of the rubble of the collapsed houses……it was…………

"Onii………………san………help…………me"

My eyes widened to this full as I was looking at my sister, covered in dust, scrapes and blood, so many emotions were flying through me anger, shock, pain, confusion, I couldn't help myself.

"I'M COMING HIKARI!!!"

I ran to my sister as fast as my legs could carry me but I couldn't help thinking…

No………NO! WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!? I DIDN'T ASK FOR THIS!! AND WHY MY SISTER!!!

I kneeled next to my sister and lay her in my arms…

"Hikari!! What happened to you!?

I don't care about that, I just want her alive!

"Onii………san………"

"Don't look at me like that! I will help you even if I have to die!"

"Onii……………san………I'm……………sor…ry"

My eyes started to tear up.

S-Sorry? What are you possibly sorry for Hikari? I LET THIS HAPPENED!! EVERYTHING IS DESTROYED!!! AND YOUR HURT INSTEAD OF ME!!

Hikari gently lifted herself up and kissed me on the cheek so passionately.

She………kissed……me? Why did she do that? Wait……………!

"Thank you……. I love…………my…………Onii……san."

She just………collapsed……in my………arms………she's………she cant be!

Tears fell from my eyes onto her dirt filled clothes.

"Hikari? HIKARI!? Wake up Hikari! Wake up! Don't do this to me! You're the only family I have left! SPEAK TO ME!!"

I pressed her against me for comfort………my only family……has just died…
Tears shed from my eyes quickly…

"Hikari………Why Hikari……………Hikari………don't leave me!"

As my eyes were tucked into Hikari's clothes, a familiar voice echoed as a bright purple light shot at me.

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!"

I'M GOING TO DIE!

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!"

Everything turned white………and then suddenly!

"AHHH! Hah hah hah hah hah hah"

A…a dream? That…felt so……real……to be a dream and thank GOD IT WAS!!

I awoke with sweat shearing down my face, panting heavily.

"Right………phew…back to reality……where the hell am I?"

A mysterious low but friendly voice spoke to me.

"Haha that must have been quite a dream to make you scream like that, but I'm just amazed that you're alive."

"Hmmm? Who's…"

"Ryuichi Yoshihara right?"

"uhh…"

A man with spiky dark black hair, ponytail, with a patch over his eye appeared before me… but I've never seen him before.

"Can you talk!?"

"Stop talking like my English teacher! I'm not that stupid!"

"Hahaha, I knew you were eccentric, but the headmaster must have given me a under exaggerated version of your information."

"Whatever, where am I anyway? Why am I in a bed?

"Your in the school infirmary."

"The nurses place?"

"Yep"

What the hell!? A man dressed as a nurse!? Wow……how low have us men sunk?

I hope there is no offence to male nurses out there……if so, please don't rip this page or I'll kick your ass!

"Did you have sex change?"

"I have been this schools nurse for over a decade!"

Wow……that even made my hair swerve back……we got ourselves a mad nurse.

"Anyway do you remember anything of what happened earlier?"

"Well I remember being collapsed on the ground and Yukimura grabbed me by the……………Yukimuraaaa!! That bastard! Where did he run off too? I want to kick his ass! I don't even know if I won that fight but I will start it again if I see him!"

"Calm down spiky haha."

Spiky? What the hell do I look like? Your dog?

"I wasn't really into the details myself of what happened earlier today, but I do know this…

He looks at my record.

"Apparently according to my record, you suffered a lot of damage in your arms and legs which include wounds, but when I diagnosed you, there were no wounds."

"What!?"

I look at my arms for the wounds left by Yukimura and the shadow I fought.

"They're……………gone"

"There is also something pretty amazing about you that you have shown today."

"Huh?"

"Do you remember turning into……a shadow?"

"………ah! Yes I do!! My body started to feel this weird strong energy and I remember seeing my hand and arm turning a purple black colour! But I couldn't control myself and ended up crushing Yukimura's hand."

"Ah yes that and his other wounds you caused were terribly hard to fix up…but I got there in the end hahaha."

"Stop flattering yourself."

I'm mean really.

"Now that you mention it, I remember seeing everything that I did to yukimura………………but I couldn't control myself and a weird voice kept on talking instead of me. I don't believe I did all of that."

"But haven't you realised something?"

"Hmmmm……can't say that I can figure it out, a lot of other stuff is going through my mind right now."

"Well I can't argue with that, but Ryuichi Yoshihara…………You are the first and only person to revert back from being a shadow……you should be dead right now."

My face lit up and my eyes widened.

Th-that's right…………why am I not dead? I-I don't understand any of this.

"We don't quite understand it ourselves."

"We?"

"The teachers and the headmaster, but your alive right now and that's what matter the most to us."

"But………I was going to kill Yukimura, even though he deserves it. I couldn't do it and I remember even attempting to kill everyone, this crazy laughter kept on going through my head."

"Hmmm……it certainly is something to be researched but a lot of people were worried about you, you know."

"R-Really?"

"Yeah, people kept coming in and out to see how you were doing but there was this girl with brown hair with some ribbons in her hair stayed with you throughout the whole day."

My face began to sink.

"But unfortunately she had to leave, you've missed her by about an hour."

Ayane…………why did she………

"Speaking of time, what time is it now?"

"Almost 6:00"

"6:00!!! Why the hell didn't you wake me up sooner!?"

I jump out of the bed and put my shoes on.

"How could I wake you up!? You were unconscious!"

"Daaaah! I've got no time to argue about this! I have to get home! My sister must be really worrying about me by now!"

I grabbed my case and I was about to run out the door.

"Alright, alright, but remember you have just woken up from a tragic matter and I don't know the full extent of your wounds so just rest ok?!"

I turned to him, gave him a thumbs up and said:

"Gotcha nursey!"

Hahaha nursey, that's a keeper.

I ran out the door down the corridor of the school.

"My name is not nursey idiot! My name is doctor Hirai!"

"Hahaha later nursey!"

Doctor Hirai chuckled to himself.

"Hehehe…………you really are a strange case spiky. Hmmp, hmmp, hmmp."


I'm at the train station now because I had no time to walk home and also…I haven't been on a train in a very long time……so many people gathered around to get on, but…………I couldn't get these strange thoughts out of my head, I had a pondering face.

What exactly happened back there………………that voice………was that the same voice as before?………

The train comes in and the doors open. I walk on to the train. There was hardly anyone present here.


Why did I change back?………why did my back shine when I changed back?…………who was that person?

I sit down on one of the open seat……still thinking.

Was I really going to kill someone? There are so many questions left unanswered.

The train starts to move. I put my hands on my head out of stress. I just couldn't figure anything out!

I don't know what to think anymore!

Suddenly I heard a feminine voice speak to me from above. Blue hair dangled from the person's body………this is…!

"Hello Yoshi-kun."

"Wh-……………Manami-san!"

Manami-san!? Graaaah! That's just what I need right now, the one who I love might resent me now because of what I did! I can't take this!

She gives a small giggle.

Hmmp, hmmp………may I sit with you?

She wants to……………sit with me? Doesn't she hate me? I must be in heaven!

"Y-y-yeah sure."

She sat next to me quite happily. But everything just went quiet and became a weird atmosphere.

Why are we so quiet? Well I don't really blame her…

"Yoshi-k---"

I interrupted her.

"I'm sorry Manami-san."

She looks at me with surprise but raises a smile.

"You know Yoshi-kun…………this is the first time I have ever seen you like this."

"Hmm?"

"You never stopped smiling……not even for a second and I admire that………I don't like seeing you like this."

Somehow……this is really good encouragement.

"But………just by what I did I've caused you so much trouble already since you're the class representative! And I've caused trouble for so many other people as well!"

"But that person wasn't you, was it."

"Ahh-"

She got me there.

My face sank once again…and she gives yet another small giggle.

"Hehehe………that's so like you Yoshi-kun…………always thinking of others and never of yourself."

"…………"

My head was pointing downwards……in a disappointed way.

I don't know what to say at all.

"I was quite upset earlier, I thought you had died to that creature. I came in to visit you though."

"Th-thank you and I'm sorry you had to see that and experience those feelings."

"Hehe, you really are an interesting person Yoshi-kun and I knew that ever since I met you."

"Huh?"

She………………found me interesting ever since we met?

"It may be hard to believe, but I've known you for longer than you think."

"Two years?"

"Hehehe……I didn't think you would know……….but I used to see you almost all the time when we were little."

My eyes widened as I looked at her.

She knew me………from when we were little!?

"You never stopped smiling no matter what the circumstances were whether you were playing with friends or having problems. Even if you felt like you wanted to cry, you kept on smiling when someone was around. I was watching you for a long time Yoshi-kun and I appreciate you very much.

She gives such a perfect smile, my eyes widened to the full and in a way………I blushed.

She really cares about me!? Heaven just got interesting.

"W-well in all fairness M-Manami-san I don't think I deserve to be praised after what I did today, but I'm very grateful that your encouraging me……………and ummmm……. Even though you're really popular……I never get a chance to talk to you."

Because you're stupid gang members keep showing up as soon as I talk to you.

Manami-san stares at me wondering what I'm going to say next.

"And even though I don't really know you very well……I do know you're a loving person who is kind to everyone you talk to and for me……

I give a big smile.

"I would like to know more about you."

Somehow when I said that her eyes widened quite largely. And she looked like she hid her face from me.

Is she going red? Maybe she has a fever like Ayane did?

"M-Manami-san? Are you ok?"

"Ummmm………y-yeah I'm fine………th-that was very nice to hear."

We gave each other smiles……

I better get off now.

The train slowly comes to a stop.

"Well this is my stop Manami-san."

"Oh? I thought you lived a little closer than this?"

"Well……what can I say really, hahaha."

"See you later, Yoshi-kun."

"Bye Manami-san! See you tomorrow if I can!"

"I will make sure that happens, hehe."

The doors of the train swiftly close and Manami-san whooshes off into the distance.

Well this has been a very terrifying yet happy day. Manami-san is sooooo nice. Wait a minute……………

"WHERE AM I!?"

I'm at the wrong stop…………clever right?

Meanwhile on the train………

She gives a small, but heart-warming smile.
Someone sounds happy.


Luckily I found out I was just a few stops too early, hahaha, but lets skip to when I'm just about to go through the door. That will break the ice.

Jeez……what am I going to tell everyone at school tomorrow and what am I going to tell Hikari? Damn it! I better figure something out!

"I'm back!"

I walk through the door and took my shoes off and left them on the floor but before I could turn the corner…

"Onii-san!!"

"Ahhh!"

Hikari jumps at me with a big hug.

"Hehehe! Where have you been Onii-san!? I was really really worried you were never going to come home."

"Ah sorry, I got held up at school."

That should hold for a while.

"Doing what Onii-san?"

Well that didn't last long…and what's she pouting for? Think of something! Quick!

"Ummmmm……schoolwork? Heh heh heh."

Lets hope that worked.

She changed from a pout to a smile.

"Ok Onii-san!"

Phew. Tochi crawls up to my shoulder.

"Chiiii"

"Hey Tochi, sorry about before, I hope I didn't scare you at all."

"Heh, heh, lets go make something to eat then shall we?"

No idea what he just said, but I'm just guessing that's a yes.

"Ok, but lets make some for Ayane-chan as well!"

"Huh? Ayane's here?"

"Yeah she said was waiting for you and hasn't left since she came back from school, she was really upset."

Not good! If that shadow didn't kill me, Ayane surely will!

I turned the corner and I saw a distressed Ayane with her face hidden in darkness.

"Heh heh………….ummmm……………A-Ayane?"

She gets up.

OK! I'm definitely worried now!

She walks over to me; each footstep she took made me panic more and more!

"A-Ayane? I-ummmmm………I'm really…"

She lifts up her arm.

She's going to hit me!!

"Eaaaaa!"

I flinched……….but there was no pain…

TAP!

I was in absolute shock……my eyes looked at her dark face strangely.

She tapped me? I don't understand? My back should be broken by now.

"Ryu……………"

"Y-yeah?"

I was still really worried since her fist was still on my head.

"If you ever do that to me again…………"

A tear rolls down her eye.

"I will kill you myself………………you got that?"

Her voice was unsteady……she quivered as she spoke.

Oh yeah! She stayed beside me in the hospital all day.

"Ayane………"

"Ayane chan………are you ok?"

"Mmmm…………"

She rubs the tears from her eyes with her arms.

"I am now that your brother is home."

She gives a small smile, but tears still show.

I better comfort her.

I put my hand on her head and said:

"I'm sorry Ayane…………but I'm not going anywhere yet."

I give the softest smile I have ever given. And for once she hasn't hit me yet, usually when I touch her, bad things happen. She gives a loving smile.

"Would you like to stay for dinner?"

She nods quite happily.

RRRRRIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGG!!

"Jeez what now?"

I was just about to answer, but………

Hmmm………maybe I can have a little fun with this. That would cheer her up.

I put the phone on speaker……yeah, its one of the speaker phones now.

"Hello Yoshihara residence!"

"Hello there, young man! Is your mother home?"

"Nope, sorry, I'm the man of this apartment, can I help you in some way?"

"Oh right, well never mind. Young man I have a deal here you can not possibly refuse!"

A big smile shows up on my face.

A seller eh? This is where things get interesting.

"What do you mean I can't refuse it? Of course I can refuse it."

"Not at these prices you cant!"

"What the hell is that suppose to mean? Are you saying that you are against human rights and your forcing me to buy whatever product your selling?"

"N-no sir, it was a figure of speech…"

"So can I refuse or can't I?"

"The choice is up to you sir."

"But you just said I can't refuse it!?"

Some small chuckles are heard in the background. They were laughing. But if you think about it, it seems kind of stupid. I'm yelling at a phone here.

"What are you selling anyway?"

"W-windows sir"

"Windows!? What the hell am I going to do with windows in an apartment!?

"Well sir you could-"

"No, Mr sales guy, I cant do anything with them. I'm 16 for one thing."

Those small chuckles turned into laughter's.

"Your not very good at this are you Mr sales guy…"

No sarcasm needed.

"Sir……if you just let me explain-"

"Oh wait, do you remember when you said it's an offer I can't refuse?"

"Yes sir!"

He started to get enthusiasm as if I'm going to buy something.

"Well guess what?"

"What's that s-?"

BEEEEEP………

I looked at them and said:

"I just did."

Both Ayane and Hikari both burst into laughter and I had big grin on my face and I begin laughing as well.

I'm glad they are so happy.

"Hahahahaha, you really know how to make someone laugh, but don't you think that was a bit mean Ryu?

"Naaaah, people like them are just pests so he ain't gonna call back to bother us anymore."

No offence to those telemarketing people out there or I will do to you like I did to the nurse.

"So you still want to stay?"

"Ummmm………no thanks, I don't want to trouble you with food and such so I think I will leave you all for today."

"Haha, ok I understand."

"Awwwh! Doesn't Ayane-chan want to stay?"

She pats Hikari on the head.

"I would love to, but I better get home to my mum, she must be wondering where I am by now and I don't want to trouble you too much."

"Come by anytime though ok?"

"Hehehe, right!"

She grabs her things and as she walks past me she whispers:

"Thank you…Ryu-kun."

A small smile appears on my face, I just couldn't help it.

"Bye guys, see ya tomorrow!"

"Bye Ayane!"

"Bye Ayane-chan!"

The door closes.

"Hey Onii-chan."

"Hmmm?"

"What was wrong with Ayane-chan?"

I smiled and rubbed her head.

"It's nothing to be worried about, ok?"

"HAI!!"

"Heh, heh, heh, lets get that food then, I'm starving."

I'm sorry mother……………I have……failed you.
